I knew very little about Leo prior to reading this book. Now, I learned about how great of a player he was, and he got to that level. The book goes in-depth through the story of his life. It was very interesting to read how a 5’7†guy from Argentina became the world’s best soccer player! This is an encouraging story that shows the value of hard work and perseverance. Overall, I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone interested in the life of Lionel Messi.For full disclosure, I did receive this item at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This was a great read. I have been playing soccer since I was little, and he has been one of my favorite players for years. It was really cool getting to read about him. As a huge sports fan I always like reading about the players and what they went through to get to where they are at today. 5 star, highly recommend for any soccer player or soccer fan.

Good gift for the young soccer fan in your fam
I got this book for free. I thought it might be good for me to read to my kid and maybe show some pictures, but not a kid book. Maybe more for a highschool kid or a fan to read. Not a hard read, so might be boring for an adult. Very informative.
This book, Lionel Messi: The Rise to Stardom, was written by Roy Brandon. The book begins with a table of contents, which does not contain page numbers on which one can locate the beginning of each chapter; however, on the Kindle version of the book, each chapter is written in a hyperlink fashion. This is done to enable the user to simply click the chapter they are interested in prior to being automatically directed to the first page of that chapter. I consider the hyperlinks to be a nice, easy method to flip to a certain area in this book. Following a short forward for the book, the chapters are in chronological order, starting from birth to near the time of the book publishing (2016). Chapters all contain specific information about integral points in Messi’s life. This book is short and direct to the life of a legend. I enjoyed the lack of filler information in this book, as it brings up excellent points and thoroughly discusses them, without droning on. There were a few spelling/grammatical errors, but not so frequent to be a turn off for continued reading. There were no obvious formatting issues. I enjoyed the setup of the chapters, being in chronological order. In addition, the chapters can be separated in terms of a particular season and stats for pivotal games. I found it cool that each chapter beings with a quote from Messi about information contained in each chapter. There are also a fair amount of great quotes within each chapter from not only Messi, but to those close to him and sportscasters. In addition, I loved the author’s emphasis not only on Messi’s wonderful career as a player, but on what a truly wonderful person he is. Too many people focus on Messi as strictly an athlete and not on how charitable, kind, and hardworking he is as a person. Any adversity not only strengthened his talent on the field, but more importantly, strengthened his character. The downside of this book is that there wasn’t any information that I couldn’t find already floating around on the internet. The positive, though, is that the information is all contained in a fairly concise book format. I enjoyed this book, but I doubt mega fans of Lionel Messi will learn anything that they didn’t already know. If you are someone who is interested in learning about a legend, who you know little to nothing about, I would recommend this book to you.
there are a lot of typos in the book. More like factual typos. E.g. while talking about the world cup, the author starts mentioning barcelona instead of argentina national team, when he should (chapter 8, i think). But an interesting read.
I thought it was going to be a harder reading level. It was for my son but I took it to school so it worked out perfect for them. Great transaction!
